The next show at the High Risk Gallery opens April 7th. Apparently I'm in the mood for warm sunny beaches, because the pieces I have in this show are "Coastal Spring" (pictured in post below), and -said with mild chagrin- "Hot Sun on Candy Buns".

Thank goodness I'm going to Mexico Beach in a few weeks!
Here are the rest of the pieces I submitted to this show, which runs March 18th through May 13th. "That Rosy Glow" is the first piece I did for this show. The idea being that I wasn't so comfortable with the theme glorifying drinking when it can be both a symptom and a cause of so many problems. So I painted my ambivalence as a couple who look pretty unhappy despite their holy grail.

"Spoon Feed Me" is meant to be more light hearted.

An older painting is included as well, in fact the first painting I did after the first class I had in painting. Still one of my favorites. My parents started calling this one "The Three Graces", and the name is sticking. I read online that the three graces (joy, charm, and beauty) were desirable guests at a party and that seems appropriate. In this case, it's Melissa, me, and Danielle, and I think anyone would want us at their party!
