Showing at the High Risk Gallery, opening 09/06/05 from 7-9 pm. These two pieces are made from two of the colors in my condo: pink, and blue. The first piece I called Spring Fling, it's meant to capture the mood of dancing in the street or smelling all the flowers in the field, a playful, happy piece made with potato prints, broken colored glass, pointy dots, and paint spatters.
The second piece, Amore Perfect Union was a 4th of July piece. It's a taste of the broken edges we are currently living, a vision of a prettier future drawn from love, and a call to action all in one. Inspired by an article about the Iroquois confederation, a lyric from the Prince song Push, and the New Orleans fiasco.
Also showing will be In the Birchwoods.
